A Thanksgiving Message

The family moves about the kitchen to collective prepare the Thanksgiivng meal

The waft of food simmering on the range fills the air

The wood in the fireplace is ablaze and emits warmth for all near

The children run about and scatter throughout the house

The dining room table is set, and the centerpiece's lighted candles glow

The family is seated around the table; the turkey is carved and all the accompaniments fill the space

The room grows silent; a prayer of thanks and recollection is offered

The families across our country are brought together on Thursday to share thanks and community

The best part of Thanksgving is the love we receive being part of something greater than ourselves

Happy Thanksgiving!
